IMPORTANT:
We are only approving registration requests that have completed the steps outlined below. Kindly take your time to review them when submitting your registration request.

Before applying to our forums and to our LEGO user group (LUG), kindly read our general FAQ to fully understand what our organization is and what it means to be a member of the Philippine LEGO User Group.

For new applicants:
We are currently undergoing a transitional phase where we hope to migrate our current membership from our old Facebook group to our new forums. Hence, we are giving priority to our older members so please bare with us.

If you have not been approved or are experiencing a delay in your forum / membership approval, kindly do the following (whichever scenario best applies):

  • If you are applying as a new member or as an existing member, kindly send an email to info@lug.ph with your registered username, your full name, and if you are a new or existing member. Please make sure to complete this step as we do not approve registration requests without this email.
  • If you are being endorsed by an existing member, kindly indicate in your email who is endorsing you.
  • If you are below 18, we require you to submit an extra form that requires parental consent to join our forums as this is a community mostly for Adult Fans of LEGO.
  • If you are part of another LUG and wish to still interact with the PhLUG community, kindly indicate in your email to info@lug.ph your original LUG so we can note it in your profile. (We welcome other members of the LEGO community but as this forum is primarily for members of our LUG, we give priority to our members. Thank you for your understanding.)
  • For any other concerns, kindly send an email to info@lug.ph and we will address them as much as we can.

The reason why we ask for your real name is because we require members to use their real names inside our forums as listed in our FAQ.

If you have completed the steps above and still experience a delay in your forum account activation, kindly send an email to info@lug.ph with the your full name, and the username used to register in the forum so we can double check the status of your registration.

This thread is devoted to providing information about embedding media into your forum posts / messages / replies such that the image will be displayed instead of just providing an image URL in your post.

Embedding Flickr images

Step 1: Navigating Flickr
Open up the Flickr page and photo you want to embed into your post. Navigate down to the share button in the lower right side of the screen

Step 2: Getting the BBCode
Make sure you get the BBCode URL as this is the only URL that will embed Flickr images properly inside the forums

Make sure to set the size properly. Images embedded in the forums are cropped/readjusted to 800 pixels wide

Step 3: Paste the BBcode
This is what it will look like when you're composing your message.

Step 4: Preview and final look
This is what an embedded Flickr image will look like in your post.

2. In starting new topics, make sure of the following:

  • A similar thread does not exist anywhere. If another thread already exist, replies will be divided and the topic will be less effective/informative. This will also result in a very cluttered section.

  • Be detailed and precise in your message. Failure to do so will only result in follow-up questions or wrong replies caused by mis-interpretations.
  • Linked and locked topics may be pruned regularly to reduce page clutter. If you have a question about where your topic went, please PM a Moderator or Administrator before starting a new topic asking where it went, or posting a duplicate of the original topic. We will be happy to provide you with a link to the new location, or a reason why it was locked and/or removed.
  • If the new topic has been closed by a moderator that topic may not be reopened by the thread starter even if they have the ability to do so. If you feel that your topic has been closed unduly you may request a review from any of the administrators.

3. Unacceptable topics are as follows but not limited to:

  • political affiliation/taunting

What is PhLUG?
PhLUG is the Philippine’s first LEGO User Group (LUG) to be recognized by The LEGO Group. It is a community for AFOLs (Adult Fan of LEGO) and aims to bring together fellow LEGO enthusiasts from all over the country.

What do you do?
Our primary activity is to engage both members of our group and to the general Filipino community on LEGO. Most of our activity is based on our discussions about the hobby, sharing our own custom builds, sets, and collections to one another. We also plan and organize events for the LEGO community such as regular meetups, exhibits, and displays around the country. Lastly. we also engage in LEGO buying and trading within our members.

How do I join?
Simply send an email to info@lug.ph and request for membership for our forums. You can also connect to us via our Facebook page located at https://www.facebook.com/PHLUG. From the forums, you can engage with other members of PhLUG and discuss your love for the hobby.

As per our membership Rules & Regulations, we require members to show their real names when using the forums. When registering for the forums, you may choose any username you want for your forum account but kindly change the Display Name (found in your Profile settings) to reflect your real name. We only allow a window of 1 week upon registration to do this.

Please be advised that we only approve members who are 18 years old and above as we are an Adult Fan of LEGO group but if you are younger than this, there are conditions where you can join us.

If I’m below 18 yrs. old, can I join?
PhLUG, along with other LEGO User Groups worldwide are formed to cater to Adult fans. Kids (KFOLs) and Teens (TFOLs) can join the group, provided that they have adult supervision, preferably a parent or a guardian, when accessing the Facebook discussion. While the PhLUG website forums on lug.ph is limited to members above 18 years of age.

I have an event and I would like you to display things for me. Is this possible?
All PhLUG major events are pre-approved a year in advance. Invitations for displays are entertained provided that the group is notified at least thirty (30) days ahead of the event.

Approval to display depends heavily on the organization host, event, theme, security of the displays and condition of the venue.

Where can I get more LEGO in the Philippines?
LEGO in the Philippines is distributed by LAJ Marketing thru the LEGO Certified Store and Hobbes and Landes. Other ways of purchasing discontinued sets, lose minifigs, parts and elements can be done thru individual traders during PhLUG meet ups.

What if I only want to buy LEGO and not be involved in the community?
Access to the marketplace is a privilege granted only to PhLUG members of good-standing.

Are you the only LEGO group in the country?
Other groups in the country exist, individuals may take a look at each one and see what suits them best,

Do you also play with other brick brands?
PhLUG proudly carries the LEGO Brand name. It’s LEGO all the way.

You mentioned regular meetups. What normally happens there?
PhLUG’s saturday morning meet up is called BRICKFast and the agenda varies.

A normal meet up consists usually of three (3) components:
1) display of My Own Creations (MOCs) of the theme
2) discussion of programs, events and displays
3) trade and set chopping.

Every when is your meetups?
A meet up ideally happens every forty five (45) days.

What can I expect during your meetups?
Expect to meet more than two hundred (200) like-minded adults discussing, building and doing anything LEGO. Of that number, a group handles the display area where builds from the previous month’s theme--prepare to absorb new techniques and build styles for your next project.

As you plan your next project, the trade area comes in handy where partscan be accessed without having to buy a whole set. It is a good way to purchase elements since the sellers themselves know the item and could give sound advise for your specific needs.

I haven’t played with LEGO since I was a child and don’t quite know where to start. Can you help me out?
The period when you havn’t played with LEGO is called the “dark ages”. Coming out from it is a challenge and an opportunity -- A challenge because you need to find your first project, and an opportunity because you’ll start on a clean slate.

PhLUG is the best place for you, we have every niche to suit your craving to build.

I’m really interested in building a particular theme with LEGO. Does your group specialize in specific LEGO themes?
Just like LEGO, PhLUG have different Special-Interest-Groups (SIGs) that specialize on the different themes produced. Thru the SIGs, experienced builders can guide a new member on the project he wishes to accomplish. This is achieved by having smaller focus groups that aim to inspire and motivate

PhLUG Special Interest Groups are:
Urban Builders: for city, structures and trains
Versus: for heroes and villains under the licensed themes
Sci-fi: for space, mechs and anything out of futuristic fantasy
Armored Division: for war related machinery
Garage: for land based vehicles
Force Legion: for Star wars Fans
Technicle: for Technic and Bionicle
Kingdoms: for castles and medieval period
